Jerry and Alice Wade

There are nine of us in the Wade family.  God is very important to all of us.  Pleasing Him and being in His will is first and foremost to our family.  Jerry, is dad and blind.  Alice is mom.

Katrina our oldest daughter, is still at home.  She is 22 years old and works part time at a daycare and is a very gracious and tender hearted individual.

Brianna is 19 and loves babies above all else and handles them with rare competence and confidence.

Nishira is a hardworking 17 year old who loves working outside.  We depend on him for most of our garden work.

Joshua at 15 is our construction worker, maintenance and repair man.

Hope at 13 and Mahala at 7 years of age are the newest members of the Wade family.

Christopher is 11.  He came in June of 2002.  He had a liking for running away, hitting, kicking, spitting, throwing his plate, etc when he came to us.  After much prayer and love he has progressed to the point where he is manageable.  He is still functioning at a 3 year old level.  He will be with us until his mother is out of prison.  Christopher is number thirty-one on the list of children we have had in our home over the last seven years.

God has put on our hearts to help children.  We love children.   Beautiful, healthy babies are very much in demand, but our hearts go out to keeping sibling groups together and the special children that need extra love and care.  We are ready, we are anxious to love your child to care for your child, to teach your child.

We are a family of born again believers, that believes in biblical truths, principles and standards.  We try to live by those Biblical principles.  We host a small church that meets here every week.  Our primary ministry is to help children in any way we can.  We have several other ministries including visiting a nursing home and a food bank for needy families.   We have a heart felt desire to serve our Lord by serving our fellow man.

Here is a reference from David and Tracey Moore

We have found Alice and Jerry to be great friends. They are compassionate people, they truly care about others.  Jerry is a man of many abilities, despite his disabilities.   He can still hammer a nail straight, find his way around the farm and do many things.  Whatever we do he usually finds a way to help as well.  He is a pleasure to talk with, a very thoughtful and helpful man.

Alice is a patient, loving mama, and a resourceful woman.  She reminds me of my banty hen…a protective mother with lots of spunk.  She is a good manager of her home, from cooking, to child rearing, to keeping track of the various family projects.  The Wade family has enough organization to make their family run well, with enough flexibility to handle whatever might come without breaking.  Their family is not afraid to ask others for help or advice when they need it.

Jerry and Alice are very good at working with children, both their own and others.  They are firm but loving and very attentive to the needs of the children.  They will literally take hours to talk with a child if needed.  Their own children are a wonderful testimony to their parenting ability.  We believe Jerry and Alice have the patience and willingness to help children attain their full potential.  We know they would provide the love, guidance and permanent family that children deserve.

            Respectfully,  David and Tracey Moore

Dear Birth Mom,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ,

This letter is to encourage you and let you know that others are supporting you and praying for you as you deal with the struggles you are facing.

It is very refreshing to find someone who cares enough and loves their child enough to want a loving, stable home for it.  God is pleased with you.  I can’t imagine the hurt and confusion that you must be dealing with at this point in your life.  Take courage my sister, God loves you!  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matt 11:28-30  Give your burden to the Lord.   “Carry each others burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” Gal 6:2  We believe the Lord would have us help you with your burden.  Let us ease your confusion and stress. We will love and care for your child.  We will pray for you always.  You are a special woman.

In Christ,  Jerry and Alice Wade
